Laugh Riot Grrrl was inspired by the early 90s punk rock feminist movement Riot Grrrl (which also later inspired punk activists Pussy Riot). Spearheaded by grrrl punk bands Bikini Kill, Bratmobile, Heavens to Betsy, Huggy Bear, Sleater-Kinney and more, Riot Grrrls and boys included Kathleen Hanna, Carrie Brownstein, Kim Gordon and Kurt Cobain.

 Intersectional Feminism is concerned with issues surrounding violence against women; BIPOC; and the LGBTQIA+ community; reproductive freedom; body autonomy; equal pay; and equal political, social and economic opportunities; and equal civil rights for ALL people and an understanding that feminism that does not include women of color and the entire LGBTQIA+ community is not true feminism.
